The Kaleidoscope VR Film Festival begins in beautiful Portland, Oregon. We've curated 20 amazing virtual reality experiences made by independent artists from around the world. Come celebrate the pioneers of virtual reality filmmaking with an evening of artist presentations, VR demos, and engaging discussions.

ARTIST TALKS:

TYLER HURD
Tyler Hurd is the director of BUTTS, an animated cartoon for Virtual Reality about anxiety, depression, and lots and lots of jiggling butts. It also happens to be one of the first and finest examples of Virtual Reality Filmmaking. Come learn from one of VR cinema’s most creative and unique voices.

LEE BLEDSOE
Lee Bledsoe has spent over 10 years working on AAA video games as an animator and special FX artist. Armed with two dozen GoPros Lee and his team at ‘Immersion.reallife’ production studio have spent the last 2 years developing the technology to capture stunning aerial 360 video for virtual reality. 

THOMAS HAYDEN
Thomas Hayden got his first 360º video camera back in 2005. A year later, he was on the road across North America as a producer of the launch imagery for Google StreetView, and has been thinking in 360º ever since. Today, he is a CoFounder at Portland-based 360 Labs, making a one of the first VR documentaries about the Grand Canyon. 

MICHAEL LATZONI
Mike is fascinated by the intersection of computer graphics, design, and storytelling. In his role as Creative Technologist at Wieden+Kennedy, he has helped to create the agency’s first virtual reality experiences. He’ll share some production stories and insights gained during the process.

SCHEDULE: 
Doors open at 3:30pm, artist talks start at 4:00pm, then we'll open the room up to VR demos and mixing. If you have purchased at ticket you must arrive by 4:00pm or risk losing your spot to someone on the wait list. 

WAIT LIST:  
We expect the event to sell out so we recommend buying tickets early. People who weren't able to buy a ticket will be let into the event starting at 3:45pm until the space reaches capacity. So if you weren't able to get a ticket come on down anyway! Chances are we'll find space for you.
