ARTIST PANEL:

TYLER HURD - Tyler is the director of BUTTS, an animated cartoon for Virtual Reality about anxiety, depression, and lots and lots of jiggling butts. It also happens to be one of the first and finest examples of Virtual Reality Filmmaking. Come learn from one of VR cinema’s most creative and unique voices.

MAC CAULEY - Artist, engineer, and animator Mac Cauley is the creator of The Night Café, a virtual reality experience that takes you inside a Vincent van Gogh painting. The Night Café won the grand prize for the Oculus VR Mobile Game Jam of 2015.

MICHAEL CATALANO - Michael is the creator of Bright Shadows, an 11 minute animation that choreographs colorful abstractions to instrumental music. Inspired by the Visual Music artists of the early 20th century, Bright Shadows is part of a long tradition of visual art that aspires to the purity of music. “My motivation is to create visuals that evoke the feelings of the music,” say Michael. Michael is currently a 3D effects animator at Disney Animation Studios.

MOLLY SWENSON - Originally from Seattle, Molly is member of the founding team at RYOT, an LA-based media company and is one of the most prolific, female virtual reality filmmakers under 30. RYOT's VR films 'Nepal Quake Project' and 'Welcome To Aleppo' have received press coverage in over 300 media outlets, including NPR, NYT, BBC, re/code and reached over 500 million people. Molly is working on VR films with journalists around the world and partners like The Sierra Club, Pencils of Promise, the ONE Campaign, the UN, The Dolphin Project and the Ad Council.
